Habitus Townhomes required music for their latest TV commercial, and turned to UPWARD studios. The bespoke sound design is carefully and expertly crafted to compliment the cinematic vision. Each instrument as recorded at UPWARD studios, with a meticulous attention to detail. The trumpet has a sultry, haunting sound and the brushes of the drum are synced perfectly to the cinematography giving hints of what is to come. Reverb was added to the piano to reflect the setting of the advertisement in a large empty warehouse and adds a feeling of mystery and intrigue. Adding to the soundscape are the sounds of footsteps, the chalk on the floor and the dancer slides across the floor, all complementing the to mystery and emotion of what can be seen on screen. The piece is called Crafted and was written for Beulah international, working in conjunction with Branding Agceny Caravan, and Visual Content Agency Burninghouse. The advertisement stars Melbourne’s own Alex Rance. Rance is a four time All-Australian AFL team member, a one time All Australian AFL Team Captain, and a winner of Richmond’s best-and-fairest award. He is currently Richmond’s co-vice captain.
